The first of four week-long multi-faceted workshops, co-creating, designing and downscaling the doughnut together, this will be a week to ground, meet one another and explore ideas, in a simple, playful, practical way. In co-creating, we will hold moments of sensemaking, discussion, deliberation gathering across many experiences to explore further together through open events.
These moments will involve us evolving our understanding, trust, hope, opportunities and challenges. Throughout the year long process synthesising, sense checking, seeing how things land with another and what we need to build on together. Here are some thoughts and principles from Kelly Ann McKercher about how we might do this equitably, creatively and together.
The programme for Grounding Week aims to create multi entry points from which to begin exploring Doughnut Economics' 7 Ways to Think Like a 21st Century Economist together, and from building our second neighbourhood grow room, zine-making, and space to dream to playful workshops with Kate Raworth and hearing from the inimitable Indra Adnan, there will be lots to explore for all ages, vocations and interests. Whether you pop in for half an hour to satisfy your curiosity, or stay with us for 3 days to deeply explore, we invite you to make yourself, at home.
