Meet Your Host

Lorna Prescott (She/Her)

"When I heard about a book called Doughnut Economics and what it was about I knew I had to read it. In the 90s I studied Engineering Design and Appropriate Technology, which was rooted in the thinking of economist EF Schumacher, author of Small Is Beautiful. I've read the book. I've watched videos of Kate Raworth talking about Doughnut Economics. I've listened to her on podcasts standing up for 21st century economics. I've had the joy of being in spaces Kate has presented in. Every time I have been blown away by her generosity, thoughtfulness, and crystal clear, open and collective approach to bringing ideas into action.

Add to this the relationships with and deep respect I have for CIVIC SQUARE founders which reach back to being part of the Impact Hub Birmingham Maker Team and I find myself deeply curious about Neighbourhood Doughnut work and what it might mean and look like in a place like Dudley."
